Experience with Brushing Program (basically the Wilbarger protocol)?

Ds's EI therapists have recently decided they'd like me to try an occupational therapy brushing program with him, a version EI has adapted from the Wilbarger protocol. They want to see if it will improve DS's attention span. Just wondering if anyone else has tried this with their child and why, how it went, if it was successful, etc.

  • DS is a sensory seeker.  We are not able to do it as often as they want since he is in school.  For as little as we do do it it has helped with his ability to listen better and he is not climbing our walls as much.

We've do a modified program based on the recommendation of his OT.  She said to brush and do joint compressions in the morning and before bed, any other time is gravy.

it does help bring him back down when he's amped up and I think it does h
