gift for birth attendant question?

Im having two friends assist dh and i for our planned medfree birth. they are not actual doulas, just crunchy friends who have been through the bradley classes etc...
they volunteered and are really excited, but one is taking off work and they are using their mom for childcare.

i wrote thank you cards to give them and want to include a gift cards for each to this local organic salon. how much would you put on each giftcard??

    Enough to cover something they would want (hair cut, pedicure, whatever).  $50 at least.

    As a doula, I will say that I love getting a gift certificate that I can use for a massage after a birth. You don't realize how hard it is on your body to hold up a laboring woman until after it's over. I've often joked that I should raise my fee the cost
