Trouble TTC

WW3TD?

So, I had planned to go visit my roommate from college next weekend and meet up with some of our old college friends for dinner one night. It was difficult to figure out when to go with trying to get our first IUI done. Well, after not being able to do it this cycle since I ovulated too early, it looks like my CD3 monitoring could possibly get in the way of me being able to go. I'm supposed to leave on Thursday afternoon, so as long as my period comes before Wednesday (my RE doesn't mind doing the ultrasounds on CD2 if needed) I should still be able to go, but if it's later I'll have to cancel last minute.

I'm wondering what 3T would do....would you just cross your fingers or would you cancel just in case? The other thing is 3 of the four girls we're meeting up with have babies and one is already pregnant again. So, if I had to cancel I'm not sure what I would say. I tried to let my best friend know it was a possibility this morning and even though she knows about our infertility and I explained the situation to her, I can tell she's not happy.  I always read on here that we shouldn't skip events or vacations for treatments, and typically I agree, but I really think I would regret it. And I'm sure my DH won't want me to skip the ultrasound. Soo...what do I do??

Re: WW3TD?

  • Since you missed last month, I would be more willing to stick around for this month's monitoring.  My RE will do CD2-4 so hopefully you will still be able to make one of those days.

I think it is good that you told your friend

  • I'd just play it by ear since you never know when your CD1 could be. Is it a long drive to meet your friends? Would you be spending the whole weekend out of town? If so, I might stay in town so that I don't miss the appt.

I agree with sticking around.  And maybe you would be able to just miss out on a night and go up after your appt?  I would probably be easier for you if your friend didn't seem disappointed... hopefully they understand!

  • I have to agree with everyone. I would stick around. I skipped an IUI for a trip and, honestly, I regret that decision. I hope your friend comes around and is a bit more supportive!
