AW DH is funny

DH's first language is not English, and he hasn't been speaking English all that long, so sometimes he says really funny things or pronounces things in ways that would never occur to me. Tonight DH got home from class as I was getting DD ready for bed. I had to pee, so he took over getting her jammies on. I kept hearing him say "button belly" and both of them were laughing and laughing. He also has a lot of trouble with some of the crazy kids books with rhyming and weird onomonopia words. Today he had me hysterical trying to pronounce "***-a-doodle-doo" and "Squish, Squelch, Plop" He always asks "what the heck does this mean?". He also likes to put cheese cream on his bagel.

  • Very cute!

One of my friends is Scottish, she has been in the states forever though.  She still says the weirdest stuff and technically her first and only language is English.

  • He also likes to remind me not to "drink drunk" if i go out to a happy hour after work. I wish I had kept a journal from when we first came back to the states. It would be fun to go back and read all the crazy things he did...and there were many!
