I need dog advice.

I'm having doggy problems.

DH and I both have pitbulls. My MIL is homing them for us until we can bring them to our home(about 6 months from now). She took them in when DH went out of state for college almost 2 years ago. Right before we left, MIL found an abused boxer and decided to keep it. It still won't come near us and MIL never does anything with it or any of the other dogs.

Last week, the boxer attacked my dog. It started with two bad smaller fights and we separated them to try to figure out the issue. Then MIL got lazy about keeping them apart and they got in to a crazy fight. It got to the point where BIL fired a gun over them and they kept at it. We immediately brought my dog to our house even though she really can't be here yet. 

I have many issues here but the one I need advice on is the fact that I can't leave my house now. I don't want to get rid of my dog but she freaks out if she's left alone. She's not an alpha dog, she's a follower. She won't pee until I go outside with her. She won't eat unless I stay next to her. I really can't bring our other dog here yet. Any ideas on how to fix this? I use to have a large kennel for her for when I was gone. She liked it before so I was thinking of getting another one.

    I think a kennel is a good idea because it will be a place of her own. It sounds like she's scared and intimated. If she has a safe place that may help her quite a bit.

    I think you need to work one-on-one (or someone has to) work one-on-one with a trainer with her.  A scared dog can very quickly become a violent one... that's not a game you want to play with a kiddo in your home.  (I'm speaking as an owner of 2

    Ah... sorry, i thought you were going to kennel her elsewhere.  That would be a bad idea!  Ha... anyway... I support crate training.  Our dogs have always been crated when we're not home.  Of course you can't leave her in there all the

    My dog loved her crate. We made it soft and warm with blankets and her favorite toys. She stayed in there while everyone was at work until she was 2 yrs old. She even went in it if she wanted alone time. I think a crate is a good idea.

    Put that dog in a crate! It sounds like she needs it. And maybe get her a fun toy and a Kong to play with while you are gone. Might help with her nervous energy.

    I would definitely get her another crate and a nice bed or blankets to put in there for her. Our Pitbull is always in his crate when we're not home. He usually doesn't put up a fight about going in to it either. I refer to it as his room. I can say "Rocky
