Someone from another board recommended that I post here and that you knowledgeable mom's might have some experience with this or advice. Aside from the issues discussed below, my son is typically developing with no other health concerns. He is dealing with silent aspiration due
to delayed swallowing abilities. Is anyone dealing with aspiration and having to thicken
formula or BM to honey consistency? We are also dealing with
uncontrolled reflux, which I think is the major contributor to our
swallowing issues. We just started on 10mg of Prilosec 7 days ago and
are seeing minor improvement and started thickening yesterday, which
definitely seems to be helping with our feeding aversions. However, I'm
having a really hard time getting the right nipple size for the
thickness and figuring out the best way to mix formula and cereal
without it clumping, etc. I thought it might be worth a post here to see
if anyone else was dealing with these issues and might be able to offer
advice. I would love some support and advice
from anyone who might have issues similar to my son. Thanks!
