Carseat/Stroller experiences

DD will be 17 months old when LO #2 arrives.  I have been struggling with....

1) Should I get a convertible carseat that can be rear & forward facing for DD and put baby is infant carrier?  My brother said we can have their infant carrier if we want it, it's just a few years old.  So we could keep both in infant carriers until DD is too big.  I might wait until closer to due date to see how big DD is then.

2) Should I get a double stroller?  What kind?  Thinking of either a Sit N Stand that can hold an infant carrier or a regular double stroller like the Graco Duoglider.

Please advise.  What are your experiences?  Thanks in advance!

  • 1. You should definitely get a convertible car seat, and one that can RF for as long as possible IMO. Neither of my children would have been able to stay in their infant seat until 17 months and my DD was small.

  • 1. Get a convertible car seat. My small 16 month old son is almost too big for our infant seat. I will be putting him in a chicco nextfit hopefully at the end of this month.

    2. If you are interested in a sit and stand look at the joovy cab
  • As other said, you definitely need to get a convertible seat for your older one.  Also, my kids are 15 mos apart, and I got the Baby Jogger City Select with the second seat kit, and I love love love it!  It has tons of options for seating arrang

  • Definitely get a convertible car seat for your older LO.

We have the Graco Ready2Grow stroller. It's a tandem double. It can hold a Graco infant seat and also converts to a sit and stand when you're ready.

  • We switched DS1 to an convertible carseat at 6/7 months, you will definitely need one for your DD by the time she is 17 months.  Get one that can both RF and FF as it's safest to keep RFing as long as possible.

My DS's will be about 22 month
