ideas for softer mattress?

hello ladies, so dd HATES her crib b/c i think her mattress is too hard.  she's been sleeping on their play mat which is made of foam so a lot softer than the her hard mattress.  any ideas or recs for a softer (and still safe) mattress?  or do i just make her deal with it and put her in her crib?

    We have a mattress pad and then we put Pottery Barn Chamois Crib Sheets. We have both pink and light blue sheets.  And then we put her on her back, and we put her Pottery Barn Kids Chamois Stroller Blankets on the lower part of her body with h

    A mattress your baby won't sleep on doesn't do anything to help!  I do suggest you add a layer or two of softness.  That will make it more comfortable for her and as she adjusts, you can start to reduce the amount of softness.
