Tubes....

I was hoping to make a poll but obviously that doesn't work. How many ear infections has your LO had after tubes? Reece gets his in on March 27th.  My nephew who is 3 weeks older than Reece got his tubes in back in September. He had a total of 10 ear infections and Reece so far has had 6. I guess last week my nephew started oozing puss and blood from his ears and now has a double ear infection.  Is this a common thing? Is it a worst case scenario? Anyone have any idea?

    I don't have any personal experience, but I don't think tubes=no ear infections ever.  I think tubes=less/less severe infections.  Just like, you can still get strep throat even if you've had your tonsils removed.

    Or the flu if you had a flu shot. Ya, I realize that he may still get them, but oozing puss and blood sounds extreme, however I would assume that its the tubes doing their job, allowing that fluid to discharge rather then staying inside his ear. &nbs

    Sorry, didn't mean for my post to come across as snarky...I'm really "dumb" when it comes to tubes...know enough to be dangerous.  But, I guess it makes sense that you would "see" the fluid/puss/blood come out since the point of the tubes is to ke

    Caroline had 2 double ear infections and 2 single ear infection after her tubes.  They have help with how bad they get but she still gets them.  She has now gone almost 2 months without one which is a huge deal for us.  She has had 13 ea

    Jackson had about 12 double ear infections. He had tubes put in when he was 11 1/2 months. We haven't had one ear infection since. His ears do drain fluid from time to time when he has a runny nose. But that's a sign that the tubes are working.
