Your LO may not STTN until they're a year old. Or even later than that. Not a single one of us has a crystal ball that will tell us when your LO will STTN.
Your LO is old enough to cry it out so you could try waiting 10-15 minutes before going in to see if he'll put himself back to sleep. Do some research on sleep-training methods, pick one that you like, and start working on it a little each night.

STTN is only 5-6 hour stretches. Not clear if this is happening but could very well be if your LO is only waking 1 or 2 times. Mine still wakes this many times a night at more than 8 months old. I am resigned to the fact that this is the best it is going
I'm in the same boat. DS spoiled us - he slept 10 hours straight since he was 3 months old. DD is a whole other story. Starting solids hasn't help at all. Longest she slept was 9-5:30 ONCE when she was two months old!!!!
DS used to wake up 1 to 2 times a night until just after 7 months. Then suddenly without warning or any change on my part he just Sttn one night and has ever since. Hoping he doesn't regress...
I have 3 boys. The oldest didn't sttn until 6 months, the middle around 8 months and right now baby boy who is almost 7 months is still waking one or two times a night. I never sleep trained any of my children it just happened on its own. Just remember it

Around 10-11 months for both of mine. Welcome to parenting
"Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies. God damn it, you've got to be kind."
