Let me preface by saying that our little 3 month old is a great sleeper....as long as he is in your arms
LO sleeps for about 6-7 hours, gets a bottle and sleeps another 3-4 hours. Naps are 2-3 hours each. Occasionally, he will sleep in the rock and play for 3 hours, but this is fairly hit or miss. We have tried the crib..no luck unless he is on his stomach, which I am not comfortable with unless we are awake. Even then, sleeping independent is hit or miss. He despises the swing and bouncer. We had purchased a pack n' play for our room, but returned it after two months because he would scream the second his body touched it.
We have tried him being swaddled and not swaddled. The only benefit I have seen to him being swaddled is his arms and legs aren't flying around; however, when swaddled he does nothing but try to fight his way out. We have tried laying him down when he is completely asleep and when he is still slightly awake...both ending up with the same result, him being wide awake and screaming.
Our pediatricians suggested letting him CIO. I understand the overall feeling of CIO most people on the boards have prior to 6 months of age; however, in a last ditch effort, i have tried it a couple of times. Don't shoot....I never last very long ![]()
While I love holding little one, I feel like I am confined to the recliner or chair for 18+ hours a day. Any suggestions on how to get LO to sleep somewhere besides our arms?
Re: Sleep Question from long time lurker :)
How long have you made it when you try to let him CIO? My LO is 4 months and we put her to bed with the swaddler around her waist and legs as a blanket and keep her arms free and when we do that she knows its bed time, not nap or play time. When we let
