This sounds like a good idea, but about how many of each size would you reccomend getting? It sounds like the consensus is pampers for the begining? What do you guys think? Are you going to stock pile a little diaper stash?
When DS was born, there was a big thing about Pampers Dry Max giving kids chemical burns. No idea if that's still happening, but we always went with Pampers Baby Dry.
I've read on previous threads that different baby bottoms fit differently so you won't know until they get here. I am putting money into a savings account to buy when they get here.
A previous poster said to stock up on coupons or vouchers because you don't know which brand of diapers will work best for your baby. I plan on buying a few packages just to have something, but mostly doing this until I know what I like best.

Well, the NICU had to go to the pediatric floor and steal a package of size 1 when dd1e was born... So with dd2, we didn't buy any newborns. Which we then needed because she was a teeny peanut. So I'd say just get one package for now, and set aside some c

I'm not stocking up for this reason you never know what diaper will work best for your baby. With DS1 any diaper was fine, but DS2 could only use Pampers everything else he either leaked out of or it gave him a terrible rash.
I'm planning on stocking up with Pampers Swaddlers and Baby Dry. I tried many types of diapers with DS, and Pampers were my favorite. Thankfully he was able to use any kind with no issues.
I will be paying for them separate from the rest of my pu
Instead of buying a couple packs of diapers each week I reccommend getting a reloadable store gift card, and putting the money you'd spend on those diapers and put it on their. Then you have more room to try and see what brand works for you! Although I ha
Just stopping in to say people bought us tons of diapers in all different sizes before DD arrived. It was absolutely no issue to take them to a store that carried the diapers to exchange for a size/brand I needed. I don't think there is anything wrong wit
The NICU uses pampers swaddlers so I stuck with those. I did stock up on sizes 1,2 &3. We used the swaddlers until he grew out of them and now we use pampers crusiers. I loved having a stock pile. I never had to go buy diapers
I don't see a problem with stocking up early. Yeah you don't know if your LO will have a bad reaction, but save your receipts and exchange them. I'm sure you will need to go to the store for something within the first week or two, just exchange then. O
We used NB size for the first couple of months I think (DS was 7lb when he was born). We have probably been in size 3 the longest. We only used Pampers in the beginning because DH needed the "pee line" HAHA I tried Luvs and Hugg

I would definitely have a box of newborns and a box of size 1's ready for when baby gets here, but I truly wouldn't stock up beyond that. Pampers leaked like crazy for us and we ended up loving Huggies.
I suggest NOT stocking up unless you are getting such an amazing deal that they're almost free. If diapers sit too long, they get stiff and don't absorb as well, and nobody wants a blow-out.
I've thought about it, but decided against it because with DS1 I loved the Pampers Swaddlers and they worked great for him. However, with DS2 for whatever reason he was blow-out city in the Pampers and only the Huggies worked because they have a lit

I would not buy newborn size because most babies only stay in that size for a very short period of time.

We always did 2 boxes of pampers newborn in the beginning
2 boxes of size 1
4 boxes of size 2 they will be in size 3 for the longest (at least my kids were)
