Frustrated.

I've posted about my pregnancy scare issue. I gave in and called my GP today to schedule a blood test. They tell me, "well, since we don't do obstetrics here anymore, we just use the urine tests. You can come in and we'll administer one, but if you've been getting negative results at home, you'll most likely get negative results here too. We could do a pap and check you out though, or we could set up an appointment for you with the OBGYN in town."

No, guys. I just want a blood test to confirm I'm not pregnant. If I wanted to go the OBGYN route, I'd be calling my OBGYN. He's an hour away from home though, and I really don't want to drive two hours round trip just for a blood test. I called y'all so that I could go to the hospital in town.

Maybe I should just go to my OBGYN... but I don't have the time to waste driving up there and back right now. Not to mention, while I don't mind still going there for my paps, I have been considering going to the in-town OBGYN so I can deliver locally this time. The hour drive was NBD before, but I didn't already have a child then. Plus, being at a hospital an hour from home really wouldn't be practical this time. I don't think they'd order a blood test at my local hospital. (they wouldn't last time, anyway)

Gah! Why couldn't they just let me have the blood test I requested, and be done with it?!

  • Seriously! They can't do a simple blood test. That is so annoying and borderline neglectful in my opinion. Sorry Lancy, more stress about this is not what you need right now.

  • Personally, I'd go the OBGYN in town.  Visiting that practice once doesn't mean you HAVE to continue using them for all future OBGYN needs.  It might be a good excuse to check them out and see what they're like given that this is a relatively ea

  • Ok, after a call to my OBGYN, I found out they will send the orders for my blood work to my local hospital. (I must have misunderstood them the last time)

I go after work today to get the test done. My OBGYN wants to see me either way
