Hitting a wall....HELP

I have recently started the process of trying to have a baby on my own.. I am going to be 33 in April and have PCOS. I am not willing to wait! I want to be a mom so badly and do not want to take the chance of meeting someone to late in life. I have seen my RE and she did the genetic work up and everything came out great.. I stopped my anxiety medication and started thyroid med's as my THS was slightly elevated.. ...I have no reached the exciting part of choosing my donor.... I was expecting it to be expensive just NOT as expensive as it is :( I spoke with a friend a mine and asked if he possibly know's anyone who would be willing to donate for me, this way i can save some money... I would obviously go to a lawyer and have papers drawn up that he would NOT be involved in any way and i in return would not ask for child support or anything like that.. Any opinions? Has anyone done this before? I feel like I was going full speed ahead and now---BAM..Im stuck...All this before i even started my first IUI.... It's scary.. and on top of everything else im doing this alone..

  • I wish I could help you.  My DH and I are using donor sperm.  We are using a company, Calif.rnia Cryo.  I choose them because you are getting quality donors.  4 year degrees with a pretty through family history for genetics. It's a personal choice but I would go with a company to do it.  You can buy several vials at a time at a discount at some.  Just my two cents.  Whatever you choose, good luck to you and I hope you get your baby.

  • My RE actually uses that bank as well as another one.. It's just more expensive than i had thought. So i am just looking for other options..

Thanks you for your advice :)

  • Thanks so much for your advice... I actually looked into an atty and that is so expensive as well.. I was lucky enough to get a loan through my credit union at work so im going to be able to use donor sperm for the California cryobank, so im very excited about that :)))
