so I am looking into at home day cares and nanny services, have contacted a few and want to set up meetings with them.
do you have any specific questions you asked when determining your child care?
thanks--I am so overwhelmed and want to make a good choice... this totally panics me
Re: ?'s to ask nanny/chid care provider
Since someone earlier quoted a post of mine and said "Where's the snark", I was tempted to reply to this post with a suggestion about asking for criminal records of past child abuse.
In all seriousness, I found this to be pretty helpful. GL! I'm super overwhelmed by it, too.
I ~totally~ understand the panic thing. Really, I do. It's a huge deal.
We've already decided on our home day care provider (friend of the family, thank God) and know their rates -- $190/week.
The questions I still have to ask are:
(1) Do we have to pay them for their vacation time?
(2) Do we still have to pay when we're on vacation and our baby isn't in daycare?
I think the answer is generally yes for both questions, but I'm wondering how ours are going to handle it.
Here's a good site about questions to ask... https://childcare.about.com/od/evaluations/tp/questions.htm
seriously wonderful advice...thank you so much!!!
those links were super helpful too.. I can go in there now feeling more confident with my questions.
thanks!
