Breast pump covered by insurance

Has anyone been able to get a breast pump covered by insurance? Blue cross told me they do but won't telle how to get one? My doctor is willing to write a prescription my pharmacist says he never heard of such a thing. Thank you.

  • Aetna will cover mine 100% and they have a list of providers on their website. I am going to wait probably another week to order it though so that I can have the warranty on it as long as possible once the baby is here.

  • It depends on your insurance.  I have United Healthcare and they cover one though a company & I had to call them and someone e-mailed me an order form with 4 to choose from.  However, I can't turn the order in until a week before my due date

  • I've got BCBS of Illinois and they will cover a manual but not an electric. They told me just to call when I buy it and they will send me the paperwork to get reimbursed 100%. Unfortunately I prob wont do it because I want an electric not a manual :-(
