DD has been waking in the middle of the night since she was born, usually twice. I go in and rock her and she usually passes back out again and goes back to sleep. If I don't go in, she cries so hard she throws up, so I am kind of resigned to going in twice a night and never STTN myself.
Now, at bedtime, when I leave, she's crying so hard she throws up. And I mean, full blown vomit, which requires sheet change, a bath, and scrubbing of the carpet. I know she's doing it in some ways to control the situation, but I cannot leave her in her vomit as a way to teach her a lesson, ( this is what a pedi in my practice suggested when i called today- mine is away) so I am at a loss as to what to do. Has anyone ever experienced this, and if so, what did you do? Advice, please.....thanks!!
Re: Crying and throwing up.....advice please!!
I would obviously not leave my child laying in her own vomit, that is ridiculous. However, I would change the sheets, scrub the carpet, wash her off, etc. with NO eye contact and NO talking. I would do it silently with as little interaction
