Connor had his physical therapy evaluation yesterday morning. It went well. The PT said he basically needs to work on the muscles in his arms and shoulders. He hates TT, so that's a big part of the problem. The PT asked if we were being evaluated for early intervention and said if they approved services he wouldn't also need separate PT.
Then we had the evaluation for the early intervention services this morning. The PT said she didn't think he necessarily had low muscle tone, just that he needed more practice. She said he was slightly delayed (even from his adjusted age), in terms of using his arms to push up or prop himself up, but thought overall he is doing great. She said he's very alert, she liked the way he moved, his core strength, head control, etc. It's just a combo of not enough TT and him being a big kid. She said she would qualify us for services if we wanted her to, but that he didn't absolutely need them. We accepted the services, so he the PT will come to our house every two weeks and work with him.
So if you made it this far, I need some advice. He hates TT. I do use a mirror or my reverse camera. That will keep him happy for about a minute. The PT recommended we get "cause and effect" type toys he can play with on the floor while on his tummy. Like a baby piano, etc. Any suggestions?

When Beb hated tummy time I would put her on the Boppy on her tummy instead of straight on the floor. I also used my patented "learn to love it technique" and let her fuss a little
Wow, that is great news! Your therapist should be able to show you some things that she will be doing with him when she is there that you can do in between sessions. Until then, Colby hates TT too. I lay him on the floor and lay facing him,
I haven't read comments so sorry if this is a repeat.
Have you tried TT on you? Hazel didn't like TT when she was younger and so we spent a good bit of time each day with her playing on top of us with us laying down. We would talk to her, sing

I have the penguin mirror, we use one of the light up stacking ring thingys and we also have stuffed animals that make noise and move. We noticed that when we practiced letting her sit up, she did better tummy time. Shamefully, I also put the tv onto a

Finley also hated TT, so much so that I was bad about having her do it in the beginning. We didn't really make her do it consistently until she was around 4 months old.

What you do is get him a twin, and lay the said twin in front of him. That works until they decide to claw and/or kick each other
Glad his appointment went well though. We usually just put a few different toys in front of E (L doesn't tolerate
Great news Toni!! I'm glad you accepted the services. A little help never hurts!
DS1 loved this toy while we working on tummy time...

I'm glad you are having a positive experience with the PT and EI.
We have used the play mat and links to hang up some cause and effect toys low enough for tummy time. He has the keys that make music when he grabs them. I do put him head toward

W hates TT at home. It's very short lived. She gets very upset. Apparently she does better at my mom's and daycare. It is very hectic there and she likes to push up and look around at the commotion. I've n
