Hello, I am Amber and I have a 2 1/2 year old DS. We have always tossed the idea around that we were only going to have one b/c I had HORRIBLE PPD with DS and I also had a c-section, which was awful for me...don't want to ever experience that again.
Well, lately...I am REALLY wanting another one! Not until DS is like 4...I CANNOT AND WILL NOT handle two in diapers and that whole mess. Also money wise, we can't afford 2 in day care. We have to wait until DS is about to start school. We are about 99% sure we want one more child. I am to the point in my PPD/A recovery to where I am saying F this and it will not win and keep me from having my dream family of 4! I also want to experience pregnancy again, have a vaginal birth and breastfeed another child. I know this isn't a guarantee, but I also want to try one more time for a baby girl. If it is a boy, it doesn't matter...we are DEF done at 2!
However, the possibility of PPD coming back is real scary and also the possibility of having another section and maybe not being able to nurse b/c of possible PPD/PPA meds. That scares the heck out of me...I'm a huge natural, bfeeding advocate...please don't flame me, but needing to use formula for baby #2 would upset me even more. Not to even mention the cost of it.
Anybody decide against another one just because of PPD? I just don't want to let it beat me!
Re: Not sure?? Help me out here?? PPD related...
I'm not sure you are posting on the right board. If you look below, most folks who decide on One and Done do so for several reasons, not "just" PPD. I will say that PPD was a piece of my decision not to have another, but not the only reason. I mean, if
My experience with PPD is one of the biggest contributing factors as to why my H and I are pretty sure we are one and done. I'm not ruling out the possibility that this could change in the future, but as of now our family seems perfect.
OP, it so

I know it sounds simple, but have you created a pro/con list? Those things always help me.

DH is happy O&D. I had been a bit on the fence due to bonding issues/PPD after birth but still thinking that a second might be a good thing. Our good friends just had a baby who is now 4 weeks. After seeing him last weekend I real
