DD has been super clingy. And I swear, it's getting progressively worse as my belly is getting bigger.
She fights falling asleep because she wants to fall asleep LAYING across my stomach - which I'm really trying to put a stop to. And when she's tired or cranky, she just wants to pull up my shirt and pat or lay on my belly. It's like this unborn baby has become her lovey or something! I've tried to encourage her to latch on to a stuffed animal or blanket, but she doesn't seem interested. I am going to keep trying this.
Have any of you mamas of 2+ experienced anything like this? On one hand, I want to snuggle her as much as possible and give her all of the love that she needs, but on the other hand, I'm worried about what's going to happen once the baby gets here in June.
Meanwhile, I'm cranky and not well rested because she keeps showing up in our bed at 4am, and I end up spending the next few hours shielding my stomach from her. DH is doing as much as he can to help me out, but it's tough because he's not routinely available to try nap or bed time on his own. Ugh, okay, done whining. Any thoughts or advice anyone might have are appreciated!
Re: Clingy baby pregnancy related?
My cats did this while I was prego with L. They would sleep by my belly and even lick it lol.
I've also heard that some young ones do react to their mother's pregnancy, so I guess that could be exactly what is going on.
I don't recall DD1 (or DD2) doing that, but I have noticed DD1 being more affectionate lately. I just have no idea if it's pregnancy related or just another phase.
