What is your "picky eater's" diet?

DS is quite picky.  The pedi isn't concerned about his weight, but I'm finding myself wondering how to get the proper nutrition in him when his diet only consists of:

Peanut Butter/PBJ Sandwiches, Apple Juice/Milk/Water, Macaroni & Cheese, Spagetti (w/ Sauce), Chicken Nuggets, French Fries, Shredded Cheese, Taco Shells (rarely together), Pancakes/Waffles (w/ Syrup) and healthy fruit squeezes

We eat healthy meals in our house, however DS would rather skip a meal and go to bed hungry than eat our stuff.  For dinner time we have told DS that what mommy makes is dinner, and if you don't want it, then you don't eat it...but you don't get anything else.  I still leave our food out for him, but he outright refuses.

Do you guys just give your picky eater what they want or do something else?  Need Suggestions please.

  • My DS is picky, but not as picky as yours. He eats most fruits, but doesn't like blueberries, kiwi, or cantaloupe. He will eat some veggies, like carrots, corn, and peppers. He has decided he doesn't like Mac and cheese, and will usually refuse pasta w

This was my Ds1's diet at age two. We have continued to offer new foods over time, and, although he is still picky, he does a LOT better at almost 4. We offer at least one healthy food with every meal that he likes. Peanut butter apples, bananas, grape

  • I do give into DDs pickiness.  However I have a rule that goes with it.  She has to eat the healthy things she does like often (fruit, yougurt, baked chicken)  and I refuse to let her eat tons of junk.  I manage to make her fairly heal
  • I think maybe the smoothie idea is great!  Maybe starting slow like 2-3 bites of one new item on a plate of things I know he will eat, and try sneaking healthy foods into his diet he has (meatloaf with carrots, etc.).
