I have a friend that moved and it's healthier for me. When she calls, I know it's because she's had some sort of drama in her life. I'm the calming friend, so I get all the drama. She just text me and asked if I was around. I really want to just put this off, but I already put off one of her texts.

So should I call her back, meaning a couple hour phone call during chargeable minutes time, or should I wait until tonight or even this weekend?

I would wait. I have a friend whom I love but is EXHAUSTING to talk to. She's an actress so everything is magnified 10x what it should be. I make sure I'm ready for a marathon conversation before I call her back.

I have a friend with nothing but drama. I usually return her call a week or two later. I would wait until the weekend.

Wait until a time that is convienent for you. You don't have to be at her beck and call, and maybe if you make her wait - she'll stop calling!

I have a friend like that and I know what you mean about avoiding the phone calls. Call her back when you are willing to talk to her for awhile.
And, I didn't think chargable minutes still existed.
