My 5 month old eats about 5-6 times a day anywhere from every 2-3 hours. Usually it's about 2 1/2 hours. He's eating 5 1/2oz and we just wait to let him tell us he's hungry. I prefer to let him tell us so I know we aren't over feeding him. If he starts to seem like he hasn't had enough for a few feedings or so, I will up his bottle a 1/2oz and see how he takes it down.
WE FF and we eat on a schedule but that doesn't mean we don't feed him sooner if he is showing signs that he is hungry. He eats about every 3 hours and averages around 5 oz.
We FF. He eats about every 4 hours give or take. If he's hungry sooner, we feed him sooner. He takes 7 and half ounces (with a teaspoon and half of rice cereal at pedis request for reflux). I will give him another half ounce if he seems like he's still starving. He typically eats at 7:30, cereal at 9:00, 1:00, 5:00, cereal at 6:30-7:00, bottle between 8:00-9:00... He usually wants it at 8:00 despite what time he last ate. This is the schedule he kind of out himself on. Again, if he wants more or more sooner, we give it.
If he wakes in middle of the night and paci doesn't easily soothe him, I will give him. 4 ounces at about 3:30 am.
DD is 5 months and she gets 6 oz at 8 am, 12 pm and 4 pm (approximately- it varies a little day by day) and then another 8 oz bottle around 7 pm before bed. She is FF and has not started solids yet.
