Any of the sensory moms use "carpet skates" with their kids?

I've seen them in kids magazines and online and I wondered if anyone on there has used them for their spd kids.  I'm debating it.  We have plenty of carpeted areas and DS1 is really wanting to skateboard so thinking maybe this would at least give him that feeling of skating ???  No clue really--but they look super awesome and fun.
