I'm traveling with my 1 y/o son in a couple of months and am wondering if we should get him a seat on the plane or use their bassinet that hangs on the wall. Does anyone have experience with the bassinet? My son is 20lbs and 30" and I thought he'd be too big but he meets the measurements for the bassinet, although is almost too tall for it. Anyway, I'd not sure which way he'd be more comfortable. The flight is 10hrs and it's $1450 for a seat vs $160 for a bassinet, but if he's going to be squished in that thing it's not worth saving the money. TIA!

Re: Traveling internationally
I would get him his own seat and plan to take the car seat on the plane with me. We did quite a bit of international travel with DS1 when he was a baby (6m-18m) and even at 8m, they said he was too big for the bassinet and would not give us one. He didn't hit 20lbs until he was a year so he was smaller than your LO. You could try calling the airline and asking about the weight limits but from what I gathered through our traveling, it was at the discretion of the flight attendants.
I know that my kids would do much better in their own seats that they're used to riding in/sleeping in rather than placing them in something that is essentially a new, exciting thing to explore. Safe travels!
