Mobile Bumpers: Another f/u thread - re: my replacement
Our resident computer whiz stopped by my not-boss's office yesterday and flat out told her "I refuse to help her (her = my replacement) anymore." And that's coming from a guy who loves to help everyone. (Also, his actual job has nothing to do with computers - people just turn to him because he's good with IT in general and because he loves to help everyone).
It sucks, but at the same time, I feel better knowing that it's not just me having too high expectations of my replacement, you know?
Re: Another f/u thread - re: my replacement
How is this woman still on payroll? Is there some sort of probationary period or something?
I know your company is probably in a bind because you're leaving soon, but sounds like she's going to make this the year from hell for your co-workers.
It's all about office politics.
Basically, if my not-boss lets her go, there's no guarantee Head Office will let her hire someone else, so right now she's trying to figure out which would be the lesser of two evils.
I wholeheartedly agree. It's just all the office politics that make the situation not-so-simple.
Personally, I have reached the point where I don't even feel like trying to show her the job, because it's such a lost cause.
Oh no!
Well, take solace in the fact that her incompetence has become visible now, before you've started your leave. At least it is out in the open already and no one can blame you!
I know! This makes me SOOOO glad I brought it up when I did, too.
