Reoccurring Cradle Cap

Anyone else have this problem? Our pediatrician said to use baby oil on the affected area and it does work, but it continues to come back.  LO's hair is really thin in that one area, too. Does it cause hair not to grow or fall out?

I'll ask about it again at her six month appointment in a few weeks, but I'm just wondering if it's something they just eventually grow out of. Or is there something stronger I can use on her hair/scalp.

Any ideas?

    With O, the oil just moisturized the cradle cap and made it blend in visibly with his scalp, it was still there. I started to pick at it when the edges looked like they were lifting up. It pulled up like a little scab, but didn't do any harm to his scalp, so i kept doing it. Since I did that, it has not been back. Sounds weird and probably isn't advised, but it worked for us!

    Ok this response only applies if ur not a "natural" mommy but I swear I did this w/ both my babies and had no issues both my boys had cradle cap and eczema. My 1st son I used sulfur 8 kids shampoo it says its for kids 2+ but I used it when he was 2 mnths old it cleared the cradle cap and the eczema. My 4 month old has cradle cap and eczema as well but is allergic to all things sulf so his pediatrician suggested bacitracin which cleared him up as well I know these aren't the gentlest of remedies but speaking from experiences kids had no adverse effects but of course try a little 1st and see how YOUR baby responds

    We do this: olive oil on the scalp for about 15 min to "soak in" then we use a baby comb to gently loosen and lift the little flakes. After that a good scrubbing in the bath to remove the flakes and oil.

    All of the methods suggested do work but with the bacitracin or the sulfur 8 kids shampoo the cradle cap will not come back other methods just remove the flakes
