I go regularly to an chiropractor for headaches. Since I started in November 2012, I have been taken off all meds for bad headaches. I no longer wake up and have headaches all day as I was having prior to seeing him. Today I decided to ask about acupuncture, he went over some of his other patients and gave me some stories and it gave me some good hope. He did a complementary session it was short as my first time ever doing this. I have two more sessions this week. They are $55 per session, has anyone else tried this and truly believed that it helped?

Now just finalizing finance plans to cover the oop costs. Doctors office is in process of moving to a new building so there are no IVF start ups until March/April 2015.
Re: Acupuncture anyone?
Our Blog
Major believer in acupuncture! I find it very relaxing for one (as evidenced by my blood pressure at the beginning and then after I'll go from 115/75 to 105/60), and have gone for various things over the years. For this pregnancy, I went weekly for about 6 weeks before my IVF donor egg cycle - she focused on prepping my uterus for the embryo. I also went after transfer several times to help the baby stick, and even before my BFP she said she knew I had gotten pregnant from my pulse! (Though of course she didn't tell me that until my next appointment after I'd had an official BFP).
I think there is something to be said for opening up the energy flow in the body and I believe that can lead to heal and improve many health issues.I always leave feeling like everything is just working better, flowing better and things in my body are better connected. Long ago when I had difficult periods I went and the physical change was profound.
I did get pregnant on the first try, and my acupuncturist said in the beginning that I wasn't in bad shape, but just could be in better shape. By the time of my transfer she felt things had shifted nicely for me...and well, I got pregnant! So there it is! Mine is $85 a treatment, but realize prices vary based on location, $55 is reasonable and fair. Anyhow, good luck with it keep us posted!

DW did accupuncture during the months she was trying to conceive. She credits it to helping to regulate her cycles.
if you are concerned about cost, consider finding a Community Accupuncture Center. They are less expensive (we paid $25 per session) because you receive treatment in a room where there are other people. It sounds weird, but actually it seemed more like a little spa and the lights were low enough that you didn't notice other people. In any case, it lowered the cost and that made it worthwhile for us!
I totally believe in acupuncture, I just hate it.
I think it works - and I actually feel guilty about NOT doing it - but I really dislike acupuncture. I found myself really dreading the nerve "zing" and the needles in my wrists and ankles (that I've broken/sprained in the past). I liked the lying there, the great acu-naps, and the holistic medicine aspect.
$55 is a great price though for a treatment! Mine were $100 at least for private sessions. I did community acupuncture for a bit and really liked the group setting, but I found the stress of booking the appointments and dreading the feeling of the nerve stimulation enough to make me not want to keep doing it.

We lost our beautiful Twin baby girls on June 18, 2014. Tavin Sara and Casey Elizabeth were born at 21 weeks gestation and were absolutely beautiful, precious, amazing babies. We miss our daughters every day and love them with all our hearts.
I have been going to an accupuncture clinic for lyme disease and it's been helpful. There are community clinics that offer a sliding scale so it's more accessible to people who would not be able to afford regular appts (like me).
My wife went before and after IUI to help with FSH levels and to increase our chances. She is 7 and a half weeks pregnant.
Best wishes on your journey!
