XP: Induction Scheduled

I just got back from my OB appointment. I am still closed up tight (0 cm), 25% effaced and LO is not engaged. We scheduled an induction for 8 AM on Friday morning. I will be exactly 40 weeks then and OB did not want me to go any farther because of AMA. I am a little (okay a lot) nervous because it is likely labor will be very long! So I am still going to keep everything crossed that my daughter decides to get started on her own, although it does not look likely.

    FWIW, my mom was induced with my youngest sister. She didn't have much progress before hand and her labor only last 5 hours. There is hope!

    Good luck... closed cervix or not.... I don't think there's any indication of how long it will be.. With my first I went into labor on my own already 2cm dilated. Got to the hospital and really didn't progress. I had my water broken - still didn't really progress and then was given pitocin. I was in the hospital in labor for almost 24 hours.

    I'm in the same boat as you except I'm past my due date.  I had an appointment today as well and still closed up too.  Is your doc starting you on cervidil first?  My doc wants to start with that on Friday and then have me come back on Saturday to start Pitocin.  I feel the same way as you and hope labor starts on its own.  Good luck to you! 
    Natural m/c on 12-22-11@ 8 weeks. D&C 12-23-11. Natural m/c @5 weeks on 3/22/12.

    I may just end up in the same boat as you. I have an appt. in a week in a half where, if LO hasn't arrived by then, we'll be discussing induction. I really hope he makes his way out before then because I keep hearing that inductions can make for super long labours. :S I hope your daughter comes out on her own before Friday for your sake!
