. but today I finally broke down an but today I finally broke down and went because my headache has because my headache has gotten so bad. he did a physical exam told me that my neck was out of alignment which I already knew, but then came the interesting news... and it didn't even register. He basically said that my body was toxic was basically like was basically like a hangover.. You said he would do some research and see what the best course of action would be, so hopefully we can get this figured out soon
Re: chiropractor found a cause for my migraine
What does "your body was toxic" even mean? Toxic from what?
Hope you feel better.
Sorry, I just read that back and realized it was a jumbled mess. My ph was so acidic it didn't even register on the litmus paper. So my bodies ph is similar right now to if I had gone on a drinking binge last night. Hopefully there will be an easy way to resolve it.
Okay, so your ph levels show acidic levels... was this saliva or urine?
You can examine your recent diet and find ways to reduce acidic food intake and increase your alkaline food intake.
Normal blood pH is 7.4 (slightly acidic). If it's over 7.8 or under 6.8 you'd be dead or dying quickly. Even litmus paper sold in kids chemistry sets could test that range. If they tested your urine... what you ate for the previous 24 hours would greatly effect what the pH is. For $10 your chiropractor could have purchased litmus paper that tests the entire range (0-14). This sounds like a major scare tactic to me- which is awful. Pregnancy brings out the hypochondriac in all of us anyway! This guy is preying on your fears.
If you truly have migraines, as diagnosed by a neurologist, I suggest going to see a neurologist again (or for the first time to be correctly diagnosed). Bad headaches do not equal migraine. Even true medical manipulations (as administered by a doctor of osteopathic medicine, a DO) do not alleviate migraines. Tension headaches, yes, anything else- NO.

Chiropractors do have a graduate degree and are Doctors. They have undergraduate degrees (4 yrs) then go thru 4 yrs of training.
They are not medical doctors- they are chiropractic doctors. They are not required by all states to have an undergraduate degree. most simply require 90 credit hours (so 2-3 years depending on each semesters course load). Entrance requirements are not as stringent. DCs are licensed upon completion of school (the exam is usually at the end of their four years).
Both MDs and DOs (medical doctor and doctor of osteopathic medicine) need a 4 year undergraduate degree with a stricter course prerequisites in order to matriculate/and or finish medical school. Currently they take the first step of their board exams after they complete two full years of basic science courses, and then take the second step after their 3rd year (first clinical year). Once they finish their fourth year (second clinical year), they begin their internships and residencies for further training. Even basic family medicine requires 3-4 years of extra training. Only after this post-graduate period (of anywhere from 3-10 years depending on specialty), are they fully licensed.
Call me crazy, but I trust my health and the health of my family to physicians that have lots of clinical training, are fully licensed, are required to continually sit for board/licensing exams to make sure they are still up to snuff and have the education and knowledge to actually differentially diagnose disease. And whose profession is backed up by scientific evidence that has been peer-reviewed.
