Has anyone had photos done at either place? We did the whole professional newborn photo shoot, and also did pro pictures in our house with a photographer for Christmas. I'd like to get some more pictures done, want to just stick to a portrait studio.
I realize it'll be different depending on the location and specific person taking the pictures, but I'd still like to hear about your experiences.
Thanks!
Re: Sears or JCP pictures?
We had DS's photos taken at JCP for his 3 month & 6 months photos.
We had a bad experience at Target for his 3 months. The photos came out blurry & the sales associate was still very pushy about purchasing even though the quality was bad. We were disappointed so I made an appointment online that same week at JCP. The photographer was great, the photos came out beautiful, & the studio was nice (clean/roomy/good lighting). I will not go anywhere else now! The packages can be pricey but if you stick to the $4 sheets (they almost always have a coupon for that price) you can get alot of pictures for not alot of money.

It took 44 cycles, just over 3 years, 6 failed IUI's in MI, and 1 round of IVF at CCRM to get our BFP!

I used to take our first DS every month to Sears and get the cheap package and request a plain background. They did an ok job, but it just depends on who you get. We have taken DS#3 to Portrait Innovations and they did an ok job and printed the photos while you are there. Do you have one of those near you?
I plan to get a professional photographer to do an outdoor family photo shoot when it warms up, but these are better than nothing. They change so fast.
I have gone to JCP many times and never felt like I had no input.
If you get a coupon for $4 sheets from JCP's website, it is definitely cheaper than Sears, but I have gotten good photos from both. I have also heard PI is pushy.
Picture People if you really want to go with a studio. I think they're usually decent for what they are. Our local Sears and JCP are both a joke, imo. I did Sears with my son when he was about a month old and OMG - it was AWFUL. Really bad posing and props. You couldn't pay me to go back.
Fwiw - None of these places use real trained photographers. They're basically people off the street.
JCP & Target both offered a CD of all pictures but was expensive IMO ($149)

Does anyone know how the website viewing options work for sears? Can you save and print pics from the site?
