Hey y'all! So, I know some have had their first bday parties already and more of us have celebrations to come. I just wanted to start a convo with those who've already partaken to see what worked, what didn't and any advice they may have

Sorry if this has already been a post, I've been un-looped for weeks.
TIA!! I'm doing the girl's 1st John Deere bday theme (well, got like 3 things with the real "theme" and then bought party items with matching colors from Dollar General, lol).

We had beach ball globes as party favors and they kept all of the babies entertained!
Our biggest fail was mostly linked to our situation. DH is the pastor of two small, rural churches and we had the party in one of the fellowship halls since the parsonage is teeny tiny. Because we were having it at the church, though, we made an announcement and invited the churches to come in addition to the friends and family we had already invited. Don't get me wrong, we LOVE the people in the churches, but we had absolutely no idea how many people were coming. We had to plan for 50-100, but only 20 came. We ended up eating pizza bagels and dumplings for many meals and we have enough goldfish to last us until DD's next birthday!
