Routine ultrasounds past 30 weeks?

I had my A/S at around 20. Will there be anymore, or only if there is an issue?

I know I will have one more. My doc does a growth/ position check between 34 and 37 weeks but I don't know if that's common pratice or not.

This is one of those things that varies from office to office. The tech told me at 20 weeks that I will have a growth check later on.

I won't have anymore unless there is some sort of medical issue and she feels I need it.

I'm getting more - having a growth scan next week at 27 weeks - I think because I was overweight to begin with. Sounds like I will have them occassionally from now on

With DS I had a quick u/s towards the end to make sure the baby was head down, but it was just a little machine in the OBs office.

20 week a/s was the last for my as long as there is no need for another.

My doctor's office said I'll get one at 36 weeks to check the growth and position of the baby. That'll make a total of 4 u/s - 8 wks to check viability, 12 wks nuchal tube scan, 20 wks anatomy scan and the 36 wk check. I do get the fetal heart monitor every time, though.

I had one with DD at 40 weeks to check my amniotic fluid to make sure that I didn't need to be induced. Other than that nothing routine.

My old OB did a growth scan at 36wks. My current one works with a medical school so she frequently has students in her office, they usually ask if they can do a quick scan for practice. Which I always consent to if I'm not running late for something else. I won't have another indepth scan though as long as everything continue to progress normally.

I had a position u/s with DD2 at 36wks but only after they suspected her to be breech. She was so we had another with the external version and then one more as a growth scan prior to scheduling c-section.

OB said they'd only do a position scan again if they suspect breech or there's some other issue.

A couple of my friends just had their babies, and they both had a third trimester ultrasound closer to delivery date, and neither had problems, it was routine. I was wondering the same thing.

I want to get another one to confirm it's a girl! I had my 20 week and she said it's a girl, but she couldn't be completely sure. She said she "didn't see anything poking out" but her legs were closed. lol.

Hm.I never much got excited before, but I kind of want to see him again. I'll ask at the next one, and maybe I'll get an elective.

I am getting monthly scans, little one is measuring 2 weeks big. So we are keeping an eye on her.

I had different OBs for DD1 and DD2. Both gave me a sonogram near the end to check position.

Ultrasounds are only done at 12 and 20 weeks here. I did have a bunch past 30 weeks but only because I developed some complications that put the baby at risk of being stillborn.

I will have my next one at 36 weeks to estimate weight and check position before delivery. I want an elective 3D but DH wants to wait to meet the baby to see what he looks like. Fair enough!
