Am I wrong to be upset?

My boyfriend's nephew who is 21 comes over today to do his laundry, and is getting over being sick. I am 10 days away from my EDD and have been lucky enough to not have been sick at all during this pregnancy. I know I've been moody during this last trimester, but I think it's crazy that he would even think of coming around me when he's coughing like crazy! Is it wrong for me to tell people in the future to not come over once the baby is born if your not feeling good?!

Re: Am I wrong to be upset?

  • No! you are not wrong and you have every right to kick him out and tell anyone else they can not visit. I got sick at 36w 4days and I will be 39w on Monday and still am not completely well!! being pregnant your immune system is weak and colds are pure HELL.
it's your body and your baby you tell them to stay away!! being sick and preggo is the worst.
you have to look out for you because people are oblivious!

  • That's exactly what happened to me!!! Its taken me a good 3 weeks to almost get over it that's with me caving in and having my ob write me prescription meds to take.
  • I actually have told everyone that if they try to walk in my house with a sniffle or a cough once LO is here they will be told to leave.  One friend tried to say I couldn't keep him from seeing his niece and she needs to build up her immune system somehow - I told him there was no way anyone with any signs of a cold or other disease is coming near my kid in the first 2-3 months.  Sometimes you just have to be a witch - it's your child and you're the one who would be taking care of LO if they got sick and God forbid with something more than a cold!
  • I dont think you shoukd tell people to wait until after baby is born if they dont feel good, as they shouldnt get your baby sick either!

  • Not wrong at all! That would super piss me off.

  • I actually have a sign on my front door that states "If you have been sick within the last week or are currently not feeling well go away until you're feeling better!" So far it's worked, sadly my son caught something at school and brought it home last week so I was sick Friday and Saturday.

  • Not at all. I've informed all of my family members that if they have any cold symptoms, they will have to wait to see our little one and myself.  I would have sent that man packing before he even got into the house (maybe with a few quarters for the laundry mat, but still, he'd be on his way out).
