S/O follow upsmy ***

My *** cat, that is!!

She's still alive and kicking. She's nuts.

I keep thinking I'm going to put her down but I don't have the guts to do it. She is still jumping on me all the time and has lost more weight.

As soon as I figure out how to easily upload pics from my iPhone to my new laptop I'll blow this place up with AW's.

  • How old is your kitty? We had a cat that lived to almost 18! I loved that cat and it was Di hard to put her down. I picked her out in kindergarten and she passed away when I was in college!

    They're tough animals!

Wow!! She has my cat beat!
  • Funny you should bring this up, because I was actually thinking about it just today. I am sorry she's still giving you such a hard time.

I'm so torn... To let her die naturally or to put her down. She has something serious going on but I don't want to put tons of money into a 19 year old cat.

I get it. As you know, I have older kitties too - though not as old as yours (they're turning 13 this summer). I don't know how things are going to play out, but I figure I won't look into having them put down as long as they have a decent quality of life. I don't see the point in putting tons on money into an old kitty either - especially since we all know that won't make them better, only buy them a little more time. I hate to think about it though. I've have them since I moved out of my parents' house, and the thought alone of having to make that decision some day gets me in tears :(

This has always been my take on it too. We had one who was 14 and was going into kidney failure and his lungs kept filling up with fluid. We let him go until he started acting like he was bothered by it and then we made the appt to put him down. I was SO relieved when he died at home the day of the appointment because I wasn't sure I'd be strong enough to take him. I'm sorry :( It's just never a good situation.

I'm glad you both understand where I'm coming from. I keep praying she will naturally die. I just don't see that happening. I don't understand why she eats so much and is still under 5 lbs.
