"Safe" twin mattress for toddler?

Ladies who went with organic or all-natural or non-toxic crib mattresses, what have you purchased for your toddler as he/she has gotten older? We're moving DS over to his big boy room in the next few weeks to get the nursery ready for #2 but I'm not sure which mattress to get for him. I know I want to get a twin so that we can reuse the crib mattress for #2.

  • When it comes time for a twin bed, I will get DS the same mattress that we sleep on. It is a natural latex with organic cover from a local store.

  • DS has a natural latex and organic wool topped mattress from Organic Grace. It is a store out of California but they ship everywhere. They had great customer service.
  • I highly recommend Naturepedic - I have outlined my research below as I was recently also looking to transition my son into a twin bed and needed an organic mattress and natural wooden bed!  We use a lot of Naturepedic products and chose this for his 'big boy' bed.
