I love mine! I didn't get it until DS was 1 but used it until he was two to carry him on my back. It was so much more comfortable than the baby Bjorn. It is also still in perfect condition and I will be using it for the next baby. If you have time to shop around, they do go on really good sales. Last week they were around $78 on babysteals.com and they came with three covers. I paid full price because I was getting it specifically for a vacation and I still think it was worth it.
I loved mine. We started using it around 2 months with a blanket instead of infant insert and it was a little awkward. From 3 to15 months we got a ton of use out of it. For me, it was much easier to figure out than a wrap and much more comfortable than a ring sling. I've carried DS around a zoo all day, on several hour hikes, etc with no issue.
My DS hated being worn, but when he was really small and I could still get away with it, I loved it. It's really comfortable to wear. I'm hoping kiddo #2 tolerates being worn better so that I can wear my Ergo a lot more!
Love it. Used it with DD once she was the recommended weight with the insert (she was over 7lbs at birth but lost some weight) so I think by a few weeks old. She is 17m and I still use it. I'm pg again though, so I do more back carry now.
Of the three carriers I have it is my favorite and we will be able to use it the longest. The Bjorn is just too hard on the back after baby gains a certain amount of weight. Don't get me wrong, he loved facing out but I just can't do it anymore. DS has had times when he hates the Ergo and right now he loves it so I'm going with it.
Just be careful, there are counterfeits out there.
A great carrier, but I recommend looking into the Beco. It is almost exactly like the ERgo, but you can wear the baby frontwards or backwards in it. My son loves it and is still using it when we go on long walks at least at 10 months. Whichever brand you choose, it is definitely worth the money.
i have a boba, which is similar, and LOVE it. it was perfect for carrying DS at the store when he was around 5 months old. I was no longer using the infant carseat but he couldn't sit unsupported in the cart yet. now that he's older, i can still do front carries, just not as long...and if it will be longer i put him on my back. abbyslane.com has beco and ergo on sale, and quirkybaby has an ergo on clearance https://www.quirkybaby.com/baby-carrier-sale.html
Love my Ergo! Started using it with DS when he was about 4 months old. He didn't seem comfy in it until I was able to wear him with his legs out. I used it almost every time I went out of the house with him when I was doing any walking. So much easier than lugging around a carseat/stroller. Once DS was sitting up on his own, I started using it less only because I was able to put him in a cart if I was grocery shopping, etc.
I hike with several mom's of babies the same age and we all wear our babies and almost every mom has an ergo. I've recently been wearing DS on my back. He loves it!
We still use our Ergo and DD will be 2 next week. I got it at my shower so we've been using it since she was about a month old. It was such a blessing to have with us when we went to a family reunion in Disney. She was only 4 onths and we had to take buses from place to place. Even DH, my mom and sister have worn her in it, since it's so easy to adjust to each person.
Love, love, love mine. Best investment ever. Used it from the moment I ditched the sleepywrap (3 months) till 24 months.
I had babybjorn, which was fine, but my babies are just way too big and stopped fitting in it quite quicklu. besides, you cannot put a bjon on the back
My relationships with scraves are somehow complicated. I mean, once it is done - it's OK, but I really like baby-caiires that are just fastened quickly and you don't have to bother with tying, and re-tying, etc. Although I did ilke sleepy wrap for a newboen and will probably use it again for a first month.
Ergo was superhandy. I used it a lot when picking up the older kid from the kindergarten (instead of folding and unforlding the pram). It is a lifesaver in the airports (we travel a lot and sometimes the airline companies do not allow prams, or they forget your pram... or whatever)
I wasn't going to get the Ergo as we had the Bjorn when my son was a baby and I really found it uncomfortable. I'm so glad I listened to friends and got the Ergo - we used it everywhere and for traveling in airports it was a life saver. I have a very tall son and we used it up until he was 19 months front facing until his legs were dangling too low. He loved it and so did I - a great choice of carrier!
