It was a good IEP meeting

It was a good IEP meeting this morning.

The diagnostician has finally finished all of her observations and evaluations along with the school social worker, school PT and school OT.

They finally see what I have been seeing in DS for a year and a half in his need for more therapy.

He will get additional services in OT, PT and Social Services. I am more shocked of his need for PT but if the PT saw that DS needed help, I am okay with it.

Our behavioral therapist and private OT were there at the IEP meeting for support.

I can sigh a huge sigh of relief. I fought for DS to get more help and he got it.

    That's great!!!!   Good for both of you.

    I've been debating calling a meeting but then I'm not sure--since there's only 2 months of school left and takes FOREVER for them to get a meeting together.  But I think he needs addition services for speech and OT as well.  They actually decreased his speech for this year and I should have fought it -- and they only just added OT in December despite me wanting it for a year.  ugh.

    I had to call the special ed department at the school district to request evaluations and observations. I requested all this in January and now here we are in March.
