Still use Changing Table?

Just wondering who still has their changing table? I still used it but he is almost not fitting in there. I'm going to miss it because thats the only place where LO can't crawl away from me while changing his diaper. So...who still is using it and who has taken it out of the room?

I just have a changing pad strapped to the top of the dresser, but I haven't used it since he was a newborn.  It was much easier to lay him and big brother on my bed (they would lay there and hold hands!) and change them at the same time until I got big brother potty trained.  I guess I could get around to tossing it now since it has rips and I don't plan on having another.

  • It depends. He hasn't fit on it for a long time but I kind of use that to my advantage. I lay him on it with his legs hanging off at the knees and he can't get much momentum to push himself around and I have more control to grab his legs and keep him from rolling. It's also strategically placed by a window and he likes to pull the string for the blinds so sometimes that keeps him busy enough for a quick change.

I have so much stuff piled on the shelves, it'll definitely require some new furniture and room rearranging so I guess I'm not in a huge hurry. My husband has a bad back and every time I even suggest it, he starts whining about how bad it hurts him to do it on the floor so we may have to come up with some kind of compromise. Maybe potty training, lol.

  • We have it for now but it is on the way out since LO is way too long for it. Pinterest has wonderful ideas for how to transform changing tables into other items.

  • Always. She's not that big and way easier than trying to get down on the floor, taking her to my room, etc. Plus, I have no other place to store besides her room so might as well use it!

Mine has 2 cubbies and 2 big drawers so I use it to store a lot of stuff.

  • We have not used our changing table in a very long time. However, we so keep it because it doubles as a dresser. We also store some things on top.

  • Nope. We havent used her changing table for a good while. It came with drawers and doubles as a dresser. We just took the changing pad off the top and put it the closet for the next one :)

  • We use it for every diaper change for both kids. It's definitely a tight fit for J. at 2 1/2. But since he only gets diapers if we are leaving the house or at night, it's NBD.

And since we are now expecting LO3, that changing table isn't going anywhere!

  • another reason why i will miss the changing table...helps my back from hurting.
  • We have a contour changing pad attached to the top of his dresser.  I use it for every single diaper change at home.  It's much easier on my back than trying to do it on the floor.  My mom was shocked - I guess she never used a changing table or anything like that for any of her 3 kids, she always changed all of us on the floor.  My back would be screaming by the end of the day.. no thanks!  Plus DH has really bad knees from a car accident several years back, so if we ditched the changing pad, I'd probably have to change every diaper lol!  We'll be using the pad on the dresser for a while longer, I think.

  • I don't. My son thrashes around too much, even with the strap.
  • Our changing pad is on his dresser and we still use it. He is way too long for the pad, but it's the easiest place to change him.

  • Olivia still fits on our changing table so I do use it but 8/10 times I have to change her diaper while she's standing up.

  • I am still using ours, but it is also attached to her crib.  I just put her legs over the end of the table.  She is well behaved while on the table and about the only place I can change her without her trying to get away.

  • I only used our change table for about the first 2 months! Since then I've been changing her wherever works, but mostly on a mat on the floor.

  • We have a contoured changing pad on a dresser and I change DS there every time. Like PPs have said it's the only place he won't roll away! He thinks getting changed on a bed is hilarious.
  • I use it for every changing.
