Baby Names

7-Letter Name

My name, my husband's and the kids names all have seven letters.  It wasn't planned out that way, it just happened (Michael Jr. and Natalie).  We're going to TTC and DH loves the idea of another 7-letter name. Yes, it's corny, but whatever floats his boat.  If I find a 7 letter name that I love it won't hurt anything.

We had already decided with our last pregnancy that a boy would've been named Charlie after his grandfather.  Any suggestions for a girl's name?  DH also loves the name Elizabeth.  I love that it's classic but find it a bit boring for my liking.  I like Allison but it was vetoed because she couldn't go by Ali if we already have a Natalie...sounds a bit too close.

Re: 7-Letter Name

  • I don't think Natalie and Ali are too close at all. I really like Allison.

Also, Charlie seems like more of a NN to me than a name.  I work at a university and when I come across students with the formal name of "Jimmy" or "Billy" I think it's strange. Charles is still 7 letters.

What about Emerson for a girl?

Some of those are horrendous but others are perfectly acceptable.

I especially like Vanessa with Natalie and Michael.

7 letters is hard to think of!

Btw, I noticed your sn.  My 1st daughter is Melissa but we call her Lissa for short.  She's named after her grandmother and great grandmother

I suppose I should've said that yes, legal name would be Charles, but go by Charlie.  I'm not a fan of giving nicknames as a formal first name either.

Great name for your little one!  That's also my first name and my mom or husband will occasionally shorten it to Lissa.  Annabelle was one of my favorites when we were expecting DD.  I hadn't thought to use the Annabel spelling.

Ah, gotcha.  Also? The siggy pic of your daughter is precious.

I agree with this. My DD is Natalie and if we have another girl in the future I am really leaning towards Allison. I also think Charlie is strictly a NN.
