Babies: 3 - 6 Months

Pacifiers

My DD will be 6months on the 28th, and I am wondering if it is alright to give her pacifiers that are 6 months +.  I didn't think a couple weeks would really be a big deal, but not sure.  TIA!!

Re: Pacifiers

  • My baby is about the same age as yours and he now has 6+. I don't know if its ok but he takes them. I needed to get some new ones and I thought it would be a waste to get 0-6 since he's so close to 6 months anyway.

  • My DD is going to be 3, and still takes a paci to sleep with her. It is the most annoying thing to see a 3 year old with a paci in her mouth. She whines for it sometimes too... its a hard, hard habit to break. We are taking it away before her 3 year old birthday party and its gonna suck for everyone.

    That being said...

We are choosing not to give DS a paci. He has gone this long without it, why should he start now?

(DD had her paci from day 1 in the hospital, I never waited (or heard that you were supposed to) until 6 months to give her one)

  • its absolutly fine. do not worry. its just a general size for an age. a few weeks is not going to be detrimental to your child in any way.
  • As long as baby doesn't seem to gag or choke a little it should be fine. If she does it may still be a little too big.
