Thrush & clogged milk ducts

My boy has had thrush for 3 months. We went through two bottles of Nystatin and then bought the violet stuff. Nothing has worked (well it got better, but has not disappeared). I had it in the beginning and had to treat myself as well. I took him to the doc on Friday and he is now on stronger medication. Hopefully it works!! But now I have clogged milk ducts. Are clogged milk ducts related to Thrush? Just curious because I never had this problem BFing my DD, but she never had Thrush. I've had clogged ducts 4 times with my son now. This time I can't get rid of them! I tried a heating pad, hot shower, massaging, feeding, pumping.... I don't know what to do, It hurts! Any suggestions? Thanks!

  • You are doing everything that you have to do. If the milk ducts gets worse you might need to go see ur doctor. I hope u feel better

  • I had plugged ducts that turned into an infection a month ago. What ended up helping was as weird as it sounds taking a hot shower, using my hair brush over the plugged ducts, and then pumping. It didn't hurt and it seemed to really help. It still took me a couple days to get rid of them. Now I have to make sure I get that side totally empty or I start feeling a lump again.
