Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Too many toys!!!

My LO is getting to the stage where he's outgrowing a lot of his "baby toys."  I've been looking in stores and online for new things I think he would like and would be educational.  There are soooo many things out there and it's so overwhelming! We don't have a huge budget so I'm scared of wasting money on something he won't be interested in.  Ugh!  Who knows what to pick??

  • Maybe you can start a toy exchange in your town. You exchange toys with other moms this way you can test out toys before purchasing them. Sometimes moms will just give you the toys for free. Just find a mom with an older child that can hand them down to your younger child.

  • We bought some toys from the thrift store. I know a lot of people think it's gross but we always clean them first. bleach and water soak for non-electronic toys and we just wipe down the electronic toys extra good with wipes. It saved us money and it didn't really hurt us money-wise when she didn't play with some of them.

Most kids love toys with noises and lights. But I wouldn't go all out on a super expensive toy. We spent $50 on a stupid robot leap frog dog that my daughter couldn't get enough of in the store and now she doesn't even touch it. I could kick myself. So yeah, to be safer go on the cheaper side. lol.
