New to The Bump

New Unexpected Mommy to Be

Hi, So I'm new to the Bump, and new to pregnancy! I am so scared to death about everything, and have been reading through posts already..and must say that It's been nice to see other people worried about the same things and having the same problems.

I just turned 22 years old, and this is the most difficult thing I've ever had to deal with by far. My boyfriend and I have only been together since August of 2012, but luckily he's been supportive in our decision to go foward with having the baby. I don't believe in abortion and neither does he, which works out great for us. It just has caused our relationship to get real rocky at some points because I have just been extremely moody lately and have a decreased sex drive (i guess you could say...) Not because i'm not crazy about him, but mainly because i'm tired all the time, and i've been eating like crazy, so I don't feel very sexy, and hes starting to feel like I don't want him anymore. I know things will be fine once we get through all this, and all the mood swings are over, but any advice as far as being able to convince him he's still all I want or tips on re-assuring him? Maybe even advice I could practice about not being so Snappy towards him..?

And I am currently 12 weeks along! I have my second sonogram doc visit tomorrow to see how baby is doing! Thanks for any advice!

  • hello!

I'm just about in the same boat as you. welcome! i myself am new to the bump.

i"m 22 and my BF and i have been together for 5yrs and im as freaked and excited about this as it gets. i too am just 12wks today!!

all i can say is this...when its getting really bad, maybe separate yourself from the situation. i found thats what worked for me. I was just plain awful towards him. but it does subside..atleast for me it did!

    keep your head up hun.

  • I know it's hard to feel sexy when you're growing a human in your belly but you are! Maybe even more so now that your body is carrying his baby. If that doesn't help maybe turn down the lights, light some candles, or try buying some lingerie so you don't feel quite so exposed. Most importantly allow yourself to love yourself! You are doing an amzing thing, it's going to be the hardest thing you've ever done and there will be a lot of changes but you'll make it. And in the end you'll love it. And be loved for it. Things will get better, keep your head up.

  • your post has freaked me out a little. haha not in a bad way. i am also an unexpected mommy to be. :) my bf and i have been dating since aug 2012 and i also turned 22 in the beg of feb. Its been really hard because it feels like everything has been moving so fast. our only difference is that i will be 15 weeks exactly on monday.
