Is anyone's else's kid suddenly lazy about feeding themselves? Alexander has no problem picking things up to eat and he also has no problem eating different textures. For some reason, in the last few weeks, he's gotten very lazy about picking up his own food (except when he wants to toss it on the floor). If I put it in his mouth or spoon feed, he'll usually eat it but if I put it on the tray, he'll shove it around, maybe pick it up to look at it and smash it. It isn't that he isn't hungry, because he definitely is.
I assume this is just an annoying phase that will pass but I wanted to whine a little. Is anyone else dealing with this, too? My first tendency would be to just let him eat his tiny amounts himself and get a little hungry so he realizes that he needs to make the most out of mealtimes however, I don't want to get woken up in the middle of the night by a hungry baby either!
