Discolored tooth enamel hypoplasia?

Hello, Over the last month, DS's second front tooth has come in. It looks slightly misshapen discolored white splotch than the other one. I just happened to google this I'm terrified at what I found. No one has ever mentioned enamel hypoplasia to me as something to watch for. I'm obviously going to find a pediatric dentist ASAP on Monday, but anyone have any experience with this? TIA!

Re: Discolored tooth enamel hypoplasia?

  • Although no one ever used this term, two of DD's teeth didn't enough enamel. They're her baby teeth and slightly discolored. The dentist "sanded" it and sealed it. No troubles since and no cavities to date. I did google enamel hypoplasia and it seems it can happen in premature births. My twins were born @ 32w3d. DS doesn't have this issue.
