Period Cramps-Opinion?

Last night I started having really light period like cramps. They are pretty consistent, but not at all how i picture bh or real contractions to be. 

Then all day today I have felt them lingering and as I lay in bed right now they are becoming a little stronger.

I wouldn't say they are consistent or able to be timed, because they are like period cramps where they are just present and hurt in spurts, but they are more painful than the ones last night. (still not how i would picture bh or real contractions to be).

Anyone else have this? Is it a sign that my body is dilating?

My sister told me that when she felt this she went into labor the next day, but I am thinking that it is not the case with me and it is just my body preparing for when labor does come in a few weeks.

    I've been getting them for 2-3 weeks.  They get strong.  Some times they build until they are noticeable contractions, other times they just annoy me.  If it helps, I'm about 2 cm dilated.  Maybe it just means things are percolating down there.   Good luck.

    Yup. Same I've been getting them for a couple of weeks on and off. It's your body getting ready. It may get worse before it gets better. I'm 38.6 and 3 cm so the cramps have to be doing some kind of magic. Good luck!

    I've been getting them for the past few weeks. Honestyly, i get them worst after we have any type of sex it seems like, that is when they are timeable (last night they were over a minute long, 55 secs in between, but died off after a few hours). My doctor calls them "mini" or "baby" contractions. Just getting ready.

    I get these too! My Doc said it is normal.

    I had them with DS for weeks and am starting this time around too.  Honestly, I can't tell if they're BH's but that my body is just so sore from having so many that they feel crampy or if they're slightly more than BH's.  For me, they meant nothing- I didn't dilate with DS until I went into full on labor.
