BASC 2 & a vent

So I just finished all 134 questions for the school psychologist. DS currently has no dx other than dev delay and as we transition to K it isn't enough to get an IEP here in CT. We are on the wait list for dev pedi but won't get in until after he starts K so the school is doing testing to see if they can qualify him.

Now the vent: I hand the completed test to DH and ask him to look it over, make changes, give thoughts etc. He looked at it for about a minute, said "this is impossible" and handed it back to  me. He then notices the look on my face and says "I'm sure you did great" I just wish for once he'd participate rather than assume I have all the answers and know what I'm doing with all of this. Because I don't.

  • My DH is like that too. He just trusts all of my decisions for Lauren but I would honestly love for him to contradict me just once so I would know he's paying attention!

  • Ditto auntie on the BASC 2; I would've been frustrated by his response too but she's right that it's better if  each BASC is filled out by one parent or teacher.

  • My dh isn't helpful either. He wasn't for my son's evaluation, and he wasn't for our other son's cancer treatments. He left it all up to me. The paperwork, decisions, everything. It's been 4years from the start of dx so I don't even bother asking anymore. He just says I'm good at that stuff and he has no clue what he's doing.

Im sorry he didn't qualify for an IEP. Was it the psychologist that gave you this form and the DD diagnosis?
