Baby Isabel Julia is here!

This team green is now team pink as baby Isabel arrived at 3:07 am on March 7th, weighing 6 lbs. 5 oz. 18 3/4 inches long.

Here is our birth story, it is a little long but I hope someone finds it empowering :

Went out to dinner at 6 pm on the 6th with DH to Outback, had a huge meal lol and while I was eating noticed that I was having cramping pretty regularly so I started timing them, 1 min long, every 5 min. They felt like period cramps and not too painful...so I kind of blew it off.

Got home and had to pee, of course, and noticed I had some spotting. Got a little concerned so called my doula and midwife, they said it was my bloody show and to try and relax because my labor could be starting. FTM at 38 4 days.

So started watching a movie on the couch and felt a "pop", ran to the bathroom cause my water had broken. It was about 9:30 pm. Called the midwife again and was given the go ahead to labor at home. Well, contractions picked up as well as intensity, by 10:45, I asked my doula to come over, and by 11:20 we were off to the hospital because contractions were coming every 12 minutues and i could not talk though them.

Made it to triage by midnight, refused an internal cause there was no way I was getting up on the exam table. Got back to the room and was told I was in transition. : Climbed into the tub, was told I could start pushing when I felt the urge, pushed for 2 hrs. Made progress but not super fast, decided to try out of the tub, made it to the bed, well at the side of the bed and in the next 2 contractions baby was crowning, out in 3 contractions. Beautiful Isabel was born, all natural, no interventions, medications or even a hep lock. My birth plan was honored to the T, nurses were great, midwife was amazing. Only thing that didn't happen was DH saying the sex, I was too excited, since I delivered standing up, the midwife handed me my baby and I announced to the world that baby was a girl. Healthy and safe. God is so good.
