TIA!! I am so curious I am scheduled for a csection Thursday
Re: STMs csection questions
1. With me they kept the catheter in all night and took it out early the next morning.
2. They brought the baby in to feed while i was still the in the recovery room to Breast feed. The nurse helped me adjust my position to feed since I was still numb. I used the hospital pillows but the boppy would probably be easier.
3. I lost 20 pounds in the hospital but I had an over 10 pound baby. I took a total of 2 weeks before my swollen feet/ankles started to go down.
Good luck to you. I have my 4th C-section scheduled on March 18th. I can't wait to meet my little guy.
My little man at 0-1-2
I had the c section at 7am, they left the catheter until the next morning.
I found last time that the boppy was just annoying to keep moving around, you won't miss it.
I was 5lbs down when I got home on Wednesday, and then Thursday morning I was down another 8. Lots of fluid retention.
I've had two c-sections. My first was unplanned, and the second was planned.
I don't remember how long the catheter was in. I think just until I could feel my legs enough to walk again.
I did breastfeed with both girls. I had my boppy with DD2, but I think pillows would have been fine to prop her up.
I have no idea how much weight I lost. I must have weighed myself, but I don't remember the results. I don't remember if the swelling was gone right away either.

I got the cath out about 12 hours after the surgery. Nurses wanted me to keep it in longer but I wanted it out so I could walk freely, plus I was worried about infection. It took six hours before I could urinate because of the spinal. They brought baby to me in recovery room and she latched on immediately and nursed. I only lost a few pounds by the time I left the hospital because of all the fluids they gave me. I am now two weeks PP and am down 25 pounds out of 40.
I am CS veteran (five total) and the things that helped my recovery the most was to keep ice on the incision. I buzzed the nurses and asked for more ice as soon as most of it was melted. And second walk as soon as possible. GL.
